Whilst more and more people are moving over to organic vegetable gardening, many remain unconvinced.

This is what he said...
While organic vegetable gardening has been growing in popularity, many people may still wonder what all the hype is about.
Why would anyone pay more for organic food or go through the trouble of growing organic produce in their garden? Isn't it difficult and time consuming?
Below are 5 great reasons to start organic vegetable gardening at home that will shed some light on the benefits of organically grown vegetables.
Eat More Healthily
Consumer awareness about all the fillers, chemicals and pesticides used in much of the food that we eat today is at an all-time high. As a result people are choosing organic options whenever possible, even if it means paying more at the cash register. It's well known that you are what you eat; even if you're in great shape and exercise regularly it makes little sense to then pollute your body with toxins from the food that you eat.
Protect the Environment
Growing food without using synthetic chemicals and pesticides is better for the soil. Organic gardening supplies and organic garden seeds are combined to make a garden that doesn't impact negatively on the environment. Composting is an effective means to treat your household organic waste while creating rich fertilizer for your garden at the same time.
Enjoy Better Tasting Veggies
As if being healthier and protecting the environment weren't reason enough, organically grown produce also tastes much better.
Grow Your Own and Save Money
If you're price conscious, you will have noticed that buying organic food is more expensive at the grocery stores. If you have a garden you can actually save some money - by not paying retail prices for produce and by not buying those chemical pesticides! The price you pay for some seeds to get started will be far outweighed by the yield of your garden by the end of the season.
Same Effort, Superior Results
The number one concern that most people have with gardening organically is pest control. There is the perception that using chemicals makes it easier to keep a garden, however there are plenty of organic gardening pest control options that require no more effort than using standard pesticides.
Part of growing a natural garden is to not go to war against the soil and pests, but to work with Mother Nature to get the most out of your garden. Companion gardening and other organic gardening tips can work effectively to increase your yields, reduce pests and allow you to enjoy healthy produce without the toxic chemicals.
